IRB 1400 is a well-proven and cost-efficient robot with a stroke and reach sufficient for most arc welding applications. It is based on IRB 1400, delivered in over 14,000 units world-wide.
Reliable – Stiff and robust design
The IRB 1400 design translates into low noise levels, long service intervals and long economic life.
Accurate – Consistent parts quality
Superior levels of control and path-following accuracy (+ 0.05 mm) provide excellent work quality.
Strong – Maximized utilization
The robot has a large working area and long reach (max 1.44 m). The handling capacity is 5 kg plus an unique 18 kg supplementary load on the upper arm for process equipment.
The robust design together with the fast and accurate IRC5 controller enables short cycle times.
Fifth generation robot controller
Based on more than four decades of robotics experience, the IRC5 sets a benchmark in the robotics industry. In addition to ABB's unique motion control it brings flexibility, safety, modularity, customer adapted user interface, multi robot control and PC tool support.
Its motion control technology, TrueMove & QuickMove, is key to the robot’s performance in terms of accuracy, speed, cycle-time, programmability and synchronization with external devices.
Integrated wire feed cabling and mounting holes for fast and optimized assembly of process equipment on the arm. Easy-to-use arc welding functions with IRC5 and unique patented single point of programming/operation with the TeachPendant. The MigRob 500 supports robotic short arc, spray arc, pulsed arc and high-speed welding (rapid arc), and includes ABB’s unique SuperPulse technology. Digital communication between the power source and robot controller provides excellent welding properties with a minimum of spatter, even at high welding speeds. The MigRob 500 weighs 66 kg and has a permissible load at MIG/MAG of 500A/39V (at 60% duty cycle) and 400A/34V (at 100% load cycle).
More Control allows more flexibility Teach Pendant:
Robots are equipped with an interface between the robot and operator, such as ABB’s StampWare, that has a teach pendant and a color touchscreen that interacts with the robot to simplify the programming of new parts and paths.
Provides the user with a fully automated tool
The Bulls Eye provides the user with a fully automated tool centre point calibration giving the highest possible level of utilisation, quality and productivity from your robot station. Customised pre-defined programs enable fully automatic tool centre point calibration during production execution, reducing down time to almost zero.
IRBP 250R Workpiece Positioners
This positioner is for applications requiring two stations – loading and welding – and where the workpiece has to be rotated about one axis. The rotation is fully coordinated with the robot to ensure high quality and maximum welding speed. The IRBP R is suitable for workpieces up to 2 000 mm Dynamic control of the rotating workpiece permits rapid acceleration and high speed movements to reduce welding times and to meet tough reorientation requirements. Dynamically adaptive software plus the simultaneous operation of the high speed drives give quick changeovers and further reduce cycle times. The IRBP R has low floor space requirements. The arrangement allows the operator to perform all loading and unloading operations ergonomically. Also, the operator is shielded from the welding process.
